Doxycycline is a widely used and effective, broad-spectrum, cost-effective antibiotic in India, playing a critical role in treating various infections, including scrub typhus and pneumonia. However, India's apex drug regulatory agency, the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation, and the Drugs Controller General of India issue safety warnings for doxycycline.
