The comet Tsuchinshan-ATLAS (C/2023 A3) is seen over the mountains of the Calabria region from the viewpoint of Torre Uluzzo, near Lecce, Italy, on October 14, 2024. The comet's coma, or head, measures around 80,000 miles (130,000 kilometers) in diameter, with a tail extending 11 million miles (18 million kilometers). It is not expected to return for another 80,000 years.
