Boston police maintain a security cordon and presence following a domestic violence incident that leaves three people shot and one person stabbed in the area of 33 Regis Road in the Mattapan neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts, United States, on April 22, 2025. At approximately 11:14 PM, police respond and locate four victims suffering from serious but non-life-threatening injuries. A 47-year-old woman, a 16-year-old girl, and a 4-year-old boy all suffer gunshot wounds. An 18-year-old female suffers from a stab wound. All four victims are transported to local hospitals for treatment. Officers arrest 46-year-old Calvin Stokes of Mattapan, and Stokes is charged with four counts of assault with intent to murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (knife), unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of a firearm (subsequent offense), unlawful possession of ammunition, and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling.

Murphy on Darien Drive in Salina, New York, United States, on April 16, 2024. On the evening of Sunday, April 14, 2024, two police officers were killed by Murphy, and the suspect was killed by police in an exchange of gunfire. On that Sunday, two Syracuse, New York police officers attempted to stop a suspicious vehicle but were unsuccessful. However, they found the license plate and tracked it to the address on Darien Drive in Salina, New York. After discovering that the suspect could be armed, the police officers requested assistance from the sheriff's office. They located the vehicle at the home and observed possible weapons inside the vehicle, leading to an exchange of gunfire with the suspect. The Syracuse, New York police officer, Michael Jensen, 29 years old, from Rome, New York, and Onondaga County Sheriff's Deputy Michael Hoosock, 37 years old, from Clay, New York, were identified as the officers killed in the gunfire exchange on Sunday evening in Salina. All three individuals, the two officers and the suspect, were shot and transported to a hospital in Syracuse, where they were pronounced dead.
