Members of the NYPD Crime Scene Unit collect a gun found at the scene inside Powell Playground and bring the collected evidence to the Crime Scene van. A 42-year-old man is fatally shot, and a 41-year-old man is injured in a shooting outside the Glenmore Plaza Houses and inside Powell Playground in Brownsville, Brooklyn, New York, United States, on August 3, 2025, at approximately 12:35 AM. NYPD police officers respond to a 911 call of a man shot in front of 160 Glenmore Avenue in Brownsville, Brooklyn, within the confines of the 73 Precinct. Upon arrival, officers observe a 41-year-old male victim with multiple gunshot wounds to his legs and a 42-year-old male victim with a gunshot wound to his stomach. Both victims are transported by EMS to One Brooklyn Health-Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center. The 41-year-old male victim is in stable condition, and the 42-year-old male victim is pronounced deceased by hospital staff. There are no arrests at this time, and the investigation remains ongoing. The identity of the deceased is pending proper family notification.

A 32-year-old man identified as Clyde Ricks is fatally shot in the chest within the confines of the 84th precinct at 391 Jay Street in Downtown Brooklyn, New York, United States, on August 1, 2025.
