Forbes rated Tara Air as one of the "most unsafe airlines" in 2019 due to several significant incidents. On May 29, 2022 a plane carrying 22 passenger and crew went missing. The plane with registration 9N-AET was flying from the city of Pokhara to Jomsom. According to Nepal's Civil Aviation Authority, the aircraft lost contact with air control 12 minutes after take off.
