Fr. Albert ''Bert'' Alejo, SJ, walks alongside the parents and friends of slain teenager Jerhode ''Jemboy'' Baltazar during a funeral march towards La Loma Catholic Cemetery in Manila, Philippines on Wednesday, August 16, 2023. Fr. Alejo, who belongs to the Society of Jesus, has criticized the alleged extrajudicial killings since the 'War on Drugs' was started by former Philippines president Rodrigo Duterte. Baltazar, a 17-year old who helps fish with his father, was killed by local policemen on August 2, 2023 who were in pursuit of a murder suspect, which Navotas City police chief Allan Umipig later admitted his officers mistook him for the actual suspect-at-large. The six policemen involved have been suspended and disarmed, facing homicide charges.
