A Capitol Police officer stands in front of a barricade as pro-choice demonstrators participate in a rally at the Supreme Court the day after learning that Supreme Court justices voted to overturn Roe v. Wade in a draft opinion for the Dobbs v. JWHO case. Police had set up the barricades to separate pro-choice and pro-life protesters; however, several thousand pro-choice and roughly 25 pro-life demonstrators were present. As a result, the other side of the barricade (shown here) became spillover for the main rally.

However, they were no match for the hundreds of people attending the rally. Jackson’s nomination to be a Supreme Court justice is historic because she is the first Black woman to be nominated. She is a former public defender and currently serves as a judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit.

The Lyric Theatre, usually showing the Michael Jackson musical 'Thriller Live' stands on a deserted Shaftesbury Avenue in London, England, on March 21, 2020. Much of central London was virtually empty today, a day after British Prime Minister Boris Johnson ordered the closure of all pubs, bars, cafes and restaurants around the country. The move represents a toughening of measures to enforce the 'social distancing' that is being urged on citizens to reduce the growth of covid-19 coronavirus infections. Nightclubs, theatres, cinemas, gyms and leisure centres were also ordered closed. Some shops in the centre of capital remained open today, albeit mostly deserted of customers; many retailers however have temporarily closed their doors until the crisis abates.
