On April 9, 1991, Georgia once again regained its independence. This year Georgia celebrates the 25th Anniversary since the restoration of its independence. The Director of the Mataghis School and acting community administrator Gegham Aghajanyan, is checking all glasses stocked in Secondary School building. New glasses will be distributed to Mataghis village habitants. Mathagis village and the school suffered from the Azerbaijani bombardement, during the night of 27-28 April 2016, by firing mortars, artillery, and multiple rocket launchers. All children also left the village, and only a few families start to come back recently. On Friday, 20 May 2016, Mataghis, Nagorno-Karabakh, Armenia.

One of Mathagis habitants, Mr Aghajanyan, shows the destruction of his house and the entrance door, during last month Azerbaijani bombardement. Many houses in Mathagis village and the school suffered from the Azerbaijani bombardement, during the night of 27-28 April 2016, by firing mortars, artillery, and multiple rocket launchers. All children also left the village, and only a few families start to come back recently. On Friday, 20 May 2016, Mataghis, Nagorno-Karabakh, Armenia.
