Janusz was the greatest test pilot of his time. He was at the forefront of cutting edge aviation technology. In 1952 he broke the sound barrier in a CF 100 MK4 fighter aircraft-the first of Canadian design to exceed the speed of over 1,000 miles an hour. The R l 201 first flew on March 25, 1958 with Janusz Zurakowski at the controls.
