The oldest vestige of the Cathedral of Palencia is the Crypt of San Antolin, which is the remainder of a Visigothic building from the mid-7th century, built with and on Roman remains, In 1035 and in the presence of Sancho el Mayor, from the court and of several bishops, the new building was consecrated, with which the Crypt of San Antolin was configured as it can be seen today.
