In Osorno, Chile, on May 25, 2025, the former cells of the former PDI building open for the celebration of Heritage Day. The former barracks of the Chilean Investigative Police (PDI), which functioned as a military prosecutor's office during the military dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet, open for the first time. Between 1973 and 1975, men and women are brought in from other precincts to be interrogated and tortured there. Former political prisoners who are detained in this barracks recount their experiences to visitors in Osorno, Chile

Sackcloths are telling the story of Dina and her husband Santiago in Osorno, Chile, on March 24, 2024. The ashes of Mrs. Dina Uribe are being scattered in the Pilmaiquen River, where the body of her husband Santiago was supposedly thrown after he was arrested and made to disappear during the beginning of the military dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet. Santiago Domingo Aguilar Duhau, Dina's husband, was the Governor of the Department of La Union until September 11, 1973, and a Communist Party militant. Dina Uribe is serving as the first president of the Agrupacion de Familiares de Detenidos Desaparecidos de Osorno on March 24, 2024, in Osorno, Chile.

Social rage escalated after a viral video showed a police officer throwing a 16 year-old from a bridge during a protest on October 2.
