Chile: Ashes Scattered In The Pilmaiquén River
Sackcloths are telling the story of Dina and her husband Santiago in Osorno, Chile, on March 24, 2024. The ashes of Mrs. Dina Uribe are being scattered in the Pilmaiquen River, where the body of her husband Santiago was supposedly thrown after he was arrested and made to disappear during the beginning of the military dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet. Santiago Domingo Aguilar Duhau, Dina's husband, was the Governor of the Department of La Union until September 11, 1973, and a Communist Party militant. Dina Uribe is serving as the first president of the Agrupacion de Familiares de Detenidos Desaparecidos de Osorno on March 24, 2024, in Osorno, Chile. (Photo by Fernando Lavoz/NurPhoto)
