The Statue of Unity located at Kabi Longstok, Sikkim, India, on November 06, 2012. The Statue of Unity is dedicated to the history of the swearing-in of the oath of blood brotherhood between the Lepcha chief Thekong Tek accompanied by his consort Nyokung Ngal and Khye (Ghed) Bumsa from Kham Minyak in the 13th century A.D. at Kabi Longtsok in North Sikkim lying about 20 KM away from Gangtok. The prince from Kham Minyak had preformed a miraculous feat of raising the main pillar of Sakya Monastery in Tibet single handedly which otherwise would have been possible with only 100,000 men. This occasion is believed to have direct connection with the mystic prophecy pertaining to Sikkim of Mahaguru Padmasambhava or Guru Rinpoche who it the patron saint of Sikkim (Beyul Dremojong or ne Mayalyang) and the history of the Namgyal Dynasty starting from the first coronation at Yuksam.
