A huge Palestinian flag hangs as women watch from the top of a building destroyed during the Gaza War, during the mass wedding of 54 couples dubbed ''The Dress of Joy,'' organized by the Al-Fares Al-Shahm Foundation, in Khan Yunis, southern Gaza Strip, on December 2, 2025. ''The Dress of Joy'' is a project helping 54 grooms in the Gaza Strip to get married, an initiative that coincides with the United Arab Emirates' (UAE) 54th National Day. The war is sparked by Hamas's October 7, 2023, attack on Israel, which results in the deaths of 1,221 people. Israel's retaliatory assault on Gaza kills over 70,000 people, according to figures from the health ministry that the UN considers reliable.

Front-line Orikhiv in southeastern Ukraine suffers from daily Russian shelling

A Ukrainian flag is painted on the wall of an industrial building destroyed by Russian shelling in the front-line town of Orikhiv, Polohy district, Zaporizhzhia region, Ukraine, on November 13, 2025. Almost 95% of critical infrastructure lies in ruins in the front-line town. Each day, Russian forces bombard the area with guided bombs and attack drones, striking civilian vehicles and the remaining homes. Russian troops often conduct a ''Russian safari,'' targeting cyclists and pedestrians who still inhabit the front-line areas near the contact line.

A protester raises the Palestinian flag. As the Global Sumud Flotilla tries to break the Israeli blockade of Gaza, in Toulouse, France, on October 1, 2025, people take to the streets to denounce the current Israeli onslaught in Gaza. Several hundred protesters participate in the march. As the march continues, the first news of the arrest of the flotilla by dozens of military ships of the Israeli navy encircles the flotilla. The Spanish health minister says, ''The detention of the flotilla is yet another demonstration of Israel's inhumanity and its determination to destroy the Palestinian people.'' The Israeli onslaught in Gaza is deemed 'genocide' by the CPI and several NGOs such as Amnesty International, HRW, PHR, etc. Israel crosses all the red lines of humanitarian laws and even laws of war. No meaningful humanitarian assistance is delivered to Gaza since March 2, and a UN-related global hunger monitor warns that more than a million people face starvation in Gaza. Now more than 300 Palestinians die of human-made starvation. The US-Israel Gaza Humanitarian Foundation distributes aid, but Israeli forces continue to kill Palestinians when they gather to obtain food. More than 1,000 Palestinians are killed during such distributions. The UN and NGOs do not want to participate as they call it a 'weaponization of food'. Since October 7, 2023, nearly 67,000 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza by the Israeli army.
