Farmers are protesting in Toulouse, France, on January 16, 2024, with a board that reads ''H2O equals Life.'' The FDSEA and JA farmers unions have called their members to demonstrate, asking the government for assistance. They are bringing their tractors and blocking the streets as part of the protest. The farmers are protesting against the increase in water usage fees, taxes on biocides, and the implementation of the EGAlim law, and they are urging the French government to ''cut the red tape.'' They are pouring manure and waste at the entrance of buildings housing several agriculture-related agencies: Ademe (for efficient energy use), the Adour-Garonne water agency, and the OFB (French Office for Biodiversity). Some farmers are attempting to break into the building but are being stopped by Gendarmerie and Police officers.

They demand a curfew during the night for air transport both freight and passengers such as for Schipol airport (Amsterdam) in the Netherlands. They also speak about the warming gas emitted by aircrafts (as the traffic is poised to double in 2045), the end of subsidies for the planes' fuel, grants for air compagnbies to open new airlines... They cite in example Vueling which opened this week a new line between Toulouse and Barcelona. Toulouse. France. May 12th 2023.

A dry sunflowers field in Bram, France. Due to a drought not seen in more than 500 years in Europe, yields are falling or are lost in France. Even sunflowers are dying in the fields due to the of rain. The french production of sunflowers will be 2.9% less than in 2021 but on a surface area 22.5% more than in 2021.
