Ukrainian servicemen are holding the Ukrainian flag during a farewell ceremony for Ukrainian poet and serviceman Maxym Kryvtsov, who was killed in action against Russian troops, in Kyiv, Ukraine, on January 11, 2024. The ceremony is taking place amid Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Hundreds of Ukrainians are coming to honor the memory of the fallen poet and soldier, Maxym Kryvtsov, known by the call sign ''Dali,'' and to say their goodbyes. At 33, Maksym became the author of ''Poems from the loophole,'' which was recognized as one of the best Ukrainian books of 2023. He participated in the Revolution of Dignity and then volunteered to go to the front in 2014. Maxym fought as part of the 5th battalion of the Ukrainian Volunteer Corps ''Right Sector'' and with the ''Da Vinci Wolves.'' Until 2019, he served as a senior machine gunner in the Rapid Response Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine ''Rubizh.'' Maxym rejoined the Ukrainian army as a volunteer in 2022 when the full-scale Russian invasion began. During the farewell, recordings of Maxim's poems are being played, read by his own voice, on the Independence Square in Kyiv.
