A 21-aircraft formation later passes over the Danish capital and the Oeresund region. The formation consists of 17 JAS 39C/D Gripen fighter jets, reinforced by two Danish F-35A fighter jets and one Danish F-16A/M. The annual Christmas tree flight is a long-standing Swedish military tradition and, following Sweden's entry into NATO, extends to several Nordic countries.
