Toulouse: Blockade And Protest For The September 10th 'Bloquons Tous' Call
11 September 2025

11 September 2025
A woman waves a French flag reading 'Liberte, egalite, Fraternite, unite, Macron get out'. Dozens of thousands of people take to the streets in Toulouse, France, on September 10, 2025, against Macron's economic policies after a day called 'Bloquons tout' (Block everything). In Toulouse, as in other towns, the movement 'Bloquons tout' launches at the beginning of the summer on social networks. It launches against Macron's politics: downsizing the welfare state to cut taxes for businesses, rising the Defense budget and Interior Ministry, and his choice of conservative Sebastien Lecornu as the new Prime Minister. His pro-business stance angers French people who blockade everywhere in France on September 10. Riot police receive orders to be without any tolerance towards blockades and use volleys of tear gas canisters. After blockading, people come to protest and scuffle with riot police.

People are portraying soldiers from the French army during a reenactment of the Battle of Puebla at the Penon de los Banos in Mexico City. Documents from the National Institute of Anthropology and History and the National Museum of Interventions indicate that during Benito Juarez's presidency, and due to the country's bankruptcy, Congress issued a decree in 1861 that suspended the payment of debts to European powers for two years. England, Spain, and France subsequently formed a triple alliance aimed at pressuring the Mexican government to repay the debts owed to each country.
