The train runs between New Jalpaiguri and Darjeeling in West Bengal, built-in 1881 and reaches an altitude of 2200m. above sea level. The locomotive uses diesel but B-Class steam locomotives are used as well and commute locals and tourists from Ghum to Darjeeling in a route with a panoramic view of the mountains, the slopes, the tea plantation and pass from the towns next to the houses and markets. Since 1999 UNESCO declared DHR a World Heritage Site, which now is in the list as Mountain Railways of India. Darjeeling, India on November 3, 2020
