Protesters are holding cardboards reading ''All different but all equal, no to level groups'' and ''No to the shock of knowledge.'' All education sector unions and the children's parents' union, FCPE, are calling for a national day of protest for better wages and to demand the cessation of what they describe as the breaking of the public service of education, and for more resources and teachers. Several hundred schoolteachers, teachers, and parents of pupils are demonstrating in Toulouse, France, on May 25, 2024, in a joint protest with all unions (CGT, UNSA, SUD, SNES, FSU, FO, etc.) against what French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal calls the ''shock of knowledge,'' ''level groups,'' and the idea of mandatory uniforms until university. Protests are taking place all over France.
