Refugees in the Softex refugee camp, outskirts of Thessaloniki, Greece, on 31 December 2016, gather in small groups to celebrate the new Year's Eve. This is a group of refugee from Syria, they are Kurdish stuck in Greece and facing a very cold winter. After counting down for the new year they went and watched the fireworks from the city. This group or refugees arrived in Greece a few weeks ago from the landborders with Turkey, crossing a deadly river. As they declare they weren't given any documents from the Greek authorities and they can not even go back.
