Local homeowners have filed the largest punitive damages civil lawsuit in Canadian history and are seeking are seeking $10 million in punitive damages against the Ambassador Bridge company for its creation of a west end 'slum'. The lawsuit, pointing to 112 properties purchased in Olde Sandwich Towne over the past decade by billionaire bridge owner Matty Moroun's company and allowed to be vacated, boarded up and left to rot. Bridge officials want to demolish homes on Indian Road, Rosedale Avenue and Edison Street to expand bridge operations and build a twin span.

February 01, 2015 --- Mississauga, Ontario, Canada --- Canadian Pro-Khalistan Sikhs protesting against the Indian government and calling for a separate Sikh state as well as showing their disapproval for the Indian army's presence in Indian-controlled Kashmir. A large group of Sikhs assembled outside a venue where celebrations for India's 66th Republic Day were taking place to show their discontent with the Indian government. The Khalistan movement seeks to create a separate Sikh state, called Khalistan in the Punjab region of India and has been a controversial topic. As well the issue of Kashmir has long been a hot-button issue for many Indians, many of whom feel strongly that their government should work towards resolving the issue. ---
