Tourists walk on the road next to the beach in Paphos, Cyprus, on Apr. 4, 2023. Cyprus sees massive increase in tourist arrivals in February with UK topping the list. Tourist arrivals in Cyprus increased by 65.6% year-on-year in February 2023. This fact, combined with the facts that Cyprus welcomed 3.2 million tourists last year, despite the absence of 800,000 Russian and Ukrainian tourists because of the war and that for 2022 it is estimated that tourists' spending has increased by about 13% on average for each trip, makes 2023 seem very promising.

Sri Lankan toddy tapper Niroshan Thilakarathne climbs a coconut tree to collect the sap in Wadduwa, about 50 kilometers (31 miles) south of Colombo, on August 20, 2019. Toddy is a local alcoholic drink made by fermenting the sap of the coconut’s flower. The traditional toddy industry is gradually becoming an endangered industry due to the rapid increase of illegal and artificial toddy manufacturers, who aid and abate the moonshine business by producing cheap, artificial toddy, unfit for human consumption.
