The plastic waste that is processed into semi-finished plastic pellets will then be sent outside the area to be processed back into finished products. Workers wore plastic seeds after being processed in a plastic waste treatment plant in Palu, Central Sulawesi, Indonesia, on July 15, 2019.. Plastic seeds that are in the form of semi-finished products will be processed again for various items made of plastic. Indonesia is committed to reducing plastic waste marked by the issuance of Presidential Regulation No. 83/2018 on Waste Management, especially plastic. Indonesia also brought the issue of plastic waste at the Asia Summit to get world attention. According to the Indonesian Center for Environment Law, Indonesia is referred to as the second largest waste producing country after China.
