The 28-spotted Potato Ladybird or the Hadda Beetles (Henosepilachna vigintioctopunctata) are destroying a bitter gourd (Momordica charantia) plant by breaking off and eating its flowers, and their larvae grubs are scraping the leaves together by the lower epidermis of leaves in a characteristic manner, leaving behind stripes of uneaten areas. The leaves are giving a stifled appearance and are being eaten off, leaving only the veins intact (skeletonization), and the plants may wither.
