On Monday evening at approximately 11:18 p.m., U.S. Park Police attempt a traffic stop for reckless driving. The driver flees from police, loses control, crashes into a curb and tree, and disables the vehicle. The suspect then flees near Kenilworth Park in Northeast D.C. and runs onto DC 295, where the suspect is struck by a civilian vehicle. The driver of the vehicle involved is not injured. The suspect is transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. FBI agents and other federal law enforcement assist at the scene. The suspect is escorted into the ambulance at the scene with FBI agents nearby.
