November 24, 2014 - Sabarata, Libya - Libya Dawn commander and head of the main Sabratha military force, Omar Mukhtar Madhuni at a checkpoint. The checkpoint is controlling for fighters associated with General Haftar and the Zintan forces as well as for extremists associated with Al-Queda, Ansar Al-Sharia, and ISIS. Madhuni was imprisoned under Qaddafi, set up a brigade during the revolution, and was elected to Sabratha’s municipal council in June 2014. He was killed in fighting on December 9, 2014.
