Iran-Caspian Miniature Horse

A 14-day-old Caspian miniature horse is being seen in a garden near the city of Karaj, 45km (28 miles) northwest of Tehran, on May 1, 2009. The Caspian miniature horse, also known as the Iranian horse or the Persian miniature horse, is a small and elegant equine breed native to Iran. These horses are characterized by their refined appearance, spirited nature, and compact size, standing at an average height of around 32 to 38 inches. Their main habitat is the northern region and the forests of the Caspian region, specifically in Mazandaran and Gilan provinces. (Photo by Morteza Nikoubazl/NurPhoto)
