Justice Sandra Day O’Connor lies in repose at the Supreme Court
The Supreme Court Police Honor Guard changes as retired Associate Justice Sandra Day O’Connor, the first woman to serve on the Supreme Court, lies in repose on the Lincoln Catafalque in the Court’s Great Hall. Justice O’Connor was appointed by President Ronald Reagan and died December 1, 2023, at the age of 93. Her funeral will take place at the National Cathedral December 19, 2023.
