Protest Against Changes In TVP In Krakow
Protesters are gathering in front of the Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Krakow, Poland, on January 18, 2024, to voice their opposition to changes in public media and to show support for Mariusz Kaminski and Maciej Wasik. The new coalition government's reforms in the public media have sparked demonstrations by PiS supporters. Following personnel changes and the president's veto on a budget-related bill, PiS party politicians are occupying the headquarters of the public television, and TVP is being put into liquidation. In a show of solidarity with Mariusz Kaminski and Maciej Wasik, who have been detained by the police, the protesters organized a march from Wawel to the Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany.
