Protest For Better Wages And Better Public Services In Toulouse
Nearly 2,000 people are demonstrating in Toulouse, France, on March 19, 2024, in a joint protest with all unions (CGT, SUD, CFTC, UNSA, etc.) against austerity, inflation, and for wage equality between men and women, as well as for environmental concerns. The head banner is displaying the message ''For our public services, general raise of wages, recruitment, end of precarity.'' All unions have called for a day of strike and protest to demand better wages and to address what they describe as the dismantling of public services, including education and health. Protests and strikes are occurring throughout France as part of a national day of action. Riot police are intervening to seize a banner created by high school students and have made two arrests for mask-wearing. (Photo by Alain Pitton/NurPhoto)
