Jatayu Earth Center
The Jatayu Rama Temple at the Jatayu Earth Center in Chadayamangalam, Kerala, India, is being visited on April 6, 2024. The nearby sculpture of Jatayu is the world's largest bird sculpture. Legend has it that Jatayu, a demi-god from the Hindu epic Ramayana who took the form of a vulture, attempted to rescue Sita when the demon king Ravana was abducting her to Lanka. Despite fighting bravely, Jatayu was defeated by Ravana, who clipped his wing, causing Jatayu to fall onto the rocks in Chadayamangalam, which is believed to be the exact location of this sculpture.
