ICJ Delivers Order On Nicaragua V Germany Case

The Nicaraguan delegation, with legal team member Carlos Jose (R), is attending the session at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague, Netherlands, on April 30, 2024. The ICJ has rejected Nicaragua's request to block Germany from selling weapons to Israel. With a vote of 15 against 1, the judges have refused the request for an emergency order that would direct Germany to halt arms sales to Israel amidst the ongoing conflict with Palestinians in Gaza. ICJ President Nawaf Salam has stated in the ruling that the current circumstances do not warrant the court's intervention with provisional measures. Outside The Peace Palace, a protest in support of Palestine and Nicaragua is taking place during the session. (Photo by Carlos Jose)
