ICJ Delivers Order On Nicaragua V Germany Case

The judges of the court, with President Judge Nawaf Salam at the center, are currently at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague, Netherlands, on April 30, 2024. The ICJ is rejecting Nicaragua's request to block Germany from selling weapons to Israel. With a vote of 15 against 1, the judges are dismissing the request for an emergency order that would direct Germany to halt arms sales to Israel amidst a conflict with Palestinians in Gaza. President Judge Nawaf Salam is writing in the ruling that the current circumstances do not warrant the court's intervention with provisional measures. Outside The Peace Palace, a protest in support of Palestine and Nicaragua is taking place. (Photo by ___)
