The Newly Elected Parliament Holds Its First Session

Acting Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen and Acting Minister for Industry, Business and Financial Affairs Morten Bodskov are seen prior to the first session in the Danish Parliament (Folketinget) following the election at Christiansborg in Copenhagen, Denmark, on April 10, 2026. The newly elected Folketing is scheduled to convene no later than 12 Noon on April 10. The first meeting will be chaired by Lars Lokke Rasmussen, the MP with the highest seniority, who has served for over 32 years. During the meeting, a temporary chairman will be elected.
