The Newly Elected Parliament Holds Its First Session

Acting Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen is seen during the first session of the Danish Parliament (Folketinget) following the election at Christiansborg in Copenhagen, Denmark, on April 10, 2026. The newly elected Folketing is scheduled to convene no later than 12 Noon on April 10. The first meeting will be chaired by Lars Lokke Rasmussen, the MP with the highest seniority, who has served for over 32 years. A temporary chairman will be elected at the meeting.
