The Artigas Gardens, Gaudi little-known Park Guell
The Artigas Gardens, designed by Antoni Gaudi, are located in La Pobla de Lillet, Spain, on April 27, 2026. Built between 1905 and 1906, these gardens are among the lesser-known works of the Catalan architect. They feature Gaudi's signature elements, such as plant motifs, grottoes, stone sculptures, and symbols of the four Evangelists, which also appear in the Sagrada Familia. The gardens remained largely unknown until Gaudi's authorship was confirmed in 1971. An eagle figure, symbolizing the evangelist Saint John, stands on the bridge crossing the Llobregat River. Currently, the gardens are a major tourist attraction, coinciding with the Gaudi Year celebrations. (Photo by Joan Valls/Urbanandsport/NurPhoto)
