Wedding Festival Galichnik

Galichnik, Macedonia-- The rituals include the carrying of a pitcher decorated with coins and flowers and many other symbolic items. Hundreds of people gathered to attend the annual wedding festival in the Macedonian village of Galichnik to witness, for the first time, a double wedding. The festival is a chance for the decedents of villagers to reenact folk wedding traditions in this depopulated region.
