Historic Strike Day In The Parisian Metro
The platforms of the Chatelet station on metro line 4 are deserted after the closure to traffic in the middle of the morning on Friday, September 13, 2019, when all the unions of RATP, the Parisian transport authority that operates the capital's metro lines, began a strike to protest against the reform of pension schemes and the end of their special schemes. Most of the metro lines in Paris were disrupted, including 10 completely closed metro lines. Parisians anticipated the strike by limiting their travel as much as possible and by taking a day off or dealing with telework. In fact, the transport was almost deserted.
