Fire Victims Struggle With Homelessness, Unemployment Amid COVID-19 In Philippines
A family shares a meal in their hosue vastly destroyed by a fire in Manila, Philippines on April 22, 2020. About 500 homes in a slum area in Tondo district in Manila were destroyed on April 18. While the majority of residents take shelter in evacuation centers, others opted to stay in their destroyed homes. Many of the fire victims struggle with unemployment as the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) is still in place in several areas in the Philippines including Manila to curb the spread of COVID-19.(Photo by Lisa Marie David/NurPhoto)
