Anti-racism Protest In Paris

The far-right group Génération Identitaire deployed a large banner on the roof of a building to denounce anti-white racism with the hashtag "White lives matter", creating tension in the demonstration on Saturday, June 13, 2020. Several thousand people gathered on the Place de la République in Paris at the call of the committee "Truth for Adama" and Adama Traoré's sister, Assa Traoré, to participate in a demonstration against police violence. This event echoes the Black Lives Matter movement and the death of George Floyd in the USA as well as a new investigation into the case of Adama Traoré, who died in 2016 following his arrest for police custody. Many slogans called for Justice for Adama, BLM and denounced racism in the police. The rally ended in clashes with the police. (Photo by Samuel Boivin/NurPhoto)
