Restrictions On Community Activities In Central Sulawesi

An officer walks in front of the deserted Central Sulawesi People's Representative Building in Palu, Central Sulawesi Province, Indonesia on August 12, 2021. The People's Representative Office is temporarily closed to serve guests for a week or until August 18, 2021 because several of its staff were confirmed positive for COVID-19 19. The local government implemented restrictions on community activities after thousands of its citizens tested positive for COVID-19. The restrictions include the use of public spaces, operating hours of shopping centers, food stalls, restaurants, offices, recreation areas, prohibitions on holding wedding receptions, gatherings, and the imposition of a curfew. Residents found violating the regulation will be punished in the form of administrative fines or social sanctions. (Photo by Basri Marzuki/NurPhoto)
