Restrictions On Community Activities In Central Sulawesi

Officers stand guard at Vatulemo Field, one of the temporarily closed public spaces in Palu, Central Sulawesi Province, Indonesia on August 12, 2021. The local government deployed a team to monitor community activities in public spaces that were temporarily closed during the extension of restrictions on community activities to 23 next August. The restrictions were implemented after thousands of its citizens tested positive for COVID-19. The restrictions include the use of public spaces, operating hours of shopping centers, food stalls, restaurants, offices, recreation areas, prohibitions on holding wedding receptions, gatherings, and the imposition of a curfew. Residents found violating the regulation will be punished in the form of administrative fines or social sanctions. (Photo by Basri Marzuki/NurPhoto)
