Embassy Of The Republic Of Indonesia In Mexico Celebrates 200 Years Of The Creation Of Chiles En Nogada

Workers of the typical Mexican food restaurant La Poblanita de Tacubaya, located in Mexico City, received authorities of the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Mexico to celebrate through a press conference and a tasting, 200 years of the creation of Chiles en Nogada. According to historical data, chiles en nogada were first made on August 28, 1821, when a group of nuns of the Augustinian Order of the Convent of Santa Monica in the State of Puebla, upon learning that the first emperor of Mexico, Agustin de Iturbide, would be celebrating his 38th birthday in the city, decided to take advantage of the seasonal products to welcome him with a dish that would bear the colours of the Trigarante Army as a celebration of the recent Independence of Mexico.
