International Women's Day In Toulouse
Young women are preparing placards for International Women's Day as thousands of women and men take to the streets of Toulouse on this day. This year, the motto is about sexism, salary differences, and sexual violence. One important theme of the gathering is the planned pensions reform, as women will lose money after the reform and must work several more years without taking time off to educate children, which will no longer count as it does now. Today, the difference in pensions between women and men is about 30%. They are raising awareness about sexism, machismo, and the difference in rights between men and women in our society. Protesters are also denouncing rapes, sexual violence, and violence towards women. Trade unions such as CGT, FSU, and Unsa are also present at the march. Toulouse, France, on March 8th, 2023.
