Two weeks after the historic leak of a draft opinion that would overturn Roe v. Wade, the Supreme Court remains closed, behind two layers of fencing. The first is an "unscalable" 8-foot fence, and the second (not pictured) is comprised of interlocking barricades.

A police car and two heavy trucks block the section of 1st Street that runs in front of the Supreme Court. As of Tuesday, May 3, the street is closed indefinitely, in anticipation of continuing protests over the possible reversal of Roe v. Wade. On Monday, May 1, Politico reported that the justices voted to overturn Roe v. Wade in a draft opinion for the Dobbs v. JWHO case. Jackson Women’s Health Organization is challenging Mississippi’s ban on abortion after 15 weeks, prior to fetal viability, which has been the standard since the Roe decision.
