Stone parts of a huge statue, possibly symbolizing Ramses II, are being unearthed after they were discovered at the ancient Heliopolis archaeological site in Matareya district of Cairo, Egypt on March 13, 2017. The statues were found in parts in the vicinity of the King Ramses II temple in the temple precinct of ancient Heliopolis, also known as Oun, by a German-Egyptian archaeological mission.

The main instrument of the Shamakhi Astrophysical Observatory, reflecting telescope in Pirqulu village, Azerbaijan on 26 September 2016. The instrument was produced in Germany. The mirror diameter is two meters. It was installed in 1964 and become the first telescope of the South Caucasus. The first observation with the telescope was made in 1966. (
