A section of the Mayor of London's 'Streetspace' scheme, designed to expand capacity for pedestrians and cyclists on certain roads while social distancing guidelines remain in effect, on Edgware Road in London, England, on May 28, 2020. The UK is now in its tenth week of coronavirus lockdown, with total deaths now standing at 37,837, according to today's updated count from the Department of Health and Social Care. British Prime Minister Boris Johnson meanwhile remains under unrelenting pressure over his refusal to sack his top aide, Dominic Cummings, who stands accused of flouting strict stay-at-home instructions by driving with his wife and son from London to County Durham on March 27 to stay at a family property. The reporting of the journey, and that of a subsequent trip to the Durham market town of Barnard Castle, has provoked huge public outcry since the story broke last Friday.
