Framed by a large wooden cross, House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-LA) speaks at the annual March for Life in Washington, DC, joined by some of his Republican colleagues from the House of Representatives. This year’s march is a celebration of the Supreme Court’s reversal of Roe v. Wade and the federal right to abortion access on June 24, 2022, in the Dobbs v. JWHO opinion. Roughly half the states have since banned or severely restricted access to abortion. Anti-abortion activists want to go further and called for Congress to pass a national abortion ban.

View of Ein Karem village which it considered one of the suburbs of Jerusalem. Archaeological evidence indicates that this site was as early as the second millennium BC. According to one account, Ein Karem is the birthplace of John the Baptist. According to Christian beliefs, Jesus and the Virgin Mary visited Zara Ein Karem several times. It is believed that the second Caliph Umar ibn al-Khattab passed it once during the Islamic conquest, and prayed in it.
