Lauder, UK. Saturday 06 August 2022. Lauder Cornet 2022 Elliot Balson, carries the Burgh Standard on horseback, during the ceremonial ride flanked by Right Hand Supporter Chris Purves, Cornet 2019, Left Hand Supporter Chris Rogerson, Cornet 2018. Following Selkirk Silver band as they march back to the War Memorial ceremonies Lauder is one of the original Border Common Ridings, with references to the festival dating back to the 1600s, being discontinued in the mid 1800s before reinstated in 1911, taking pride of place in the Lauderdale calendar each year.
